On October 26, the opening ceremony of the "Xipu Huihu School of Pharmacy Experimental Animal Center" jointly established by Suzhou Gemma Gene Co., Ltd. and Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University-Xipu Huihu School of Pharmacy was held in the company.

Suzhou Gemma Gene Co., Ltd. was established in 2003 by a team of returned scholars in Shanghai Zhangjiang High-tech Park. In 2007, Gemma Gene Headquarters was established in the Biomedical Industrial Park of Suzhou Industrial Park. The company is a leading enterprise in the field of domestic RNA products. It has all the core technologies of internationally advanced RNA chemical synthesis. It has a complete industrial chain from RNA monomer synthesis, RNA oligo synthesis to RNA drug research and development. It is mainly engaged in RNA research related reagents and services. Domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies provide RNA drug development services, and have established long-term cooperation with domestic and overseas universities and scientific research institutions such as Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Rutgers University, and many well-known biomedical companies and large tertiary hospitals. The listing further strengthened the cooperative relationship between Gemma Gene and Xipu Huihu School of Pharmacy in the field of RNA drug development and expanded the scope of cooperation.

The experimental animal center is an SPF-level animal room constructed by Gemma Gene Company in accordance with national standards. It is located in the Suzhou Biomedical Industrial Park, only 2 kilometers away from Xipu. The animal room in the experimental center has a construction area of about 1340m2 and a barrier area of about 780m2. It can raise more than 20,000 rats and mice at the same time.
